MCP2515 CAN Bus Module

The MCP2515 CAN Bus Interface Module implements the CAN 2.0B protocol and can support speeds of up to 1 Mb/s over a distance of up to 1000 m bus length.   The module has a SPI interface for communication with the microcontroller, uses commonly available CAN bus drivers (Arduino library), and is one of the few CAN bus modules that allows the 120 ohm termination resistor to be optionally included across the CAN H/L lines.   The required power input is 4.75 to 5.5 VDC and the typical current draw is 5 mA.   PCB size 44 x 28 mm.   Screw hole spacing 23 x 38 mm.  

The SPI logic is 5V and cannot be used with 3.3V logic microcontrollers.   CAN modules based on the SN65HVD230 can support 3.3V logic.
